Thoughts on these...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...8227&viewitem=

They are new headlights that have built in 6000k HID kits in them. What does everybody think about this? I'm tempted...

Aftermarket headlight clusters have a very poor record when it comes to the light pattern cast by the reflectors - see the "R34"-style eBay units for an example. You'd be much better off installing those HID kits in OE headlights, or better yet, going with a projector retrofit.

I generally don't think it's a good idea to mess with headlights at all, but if you're going to do it, you can't do a slipshod job. These eBay companies are very fly-by-night and will do anything for a profit. If you buy headlights from eBay, HIDs in particular, and don't put in the time/considerable money to get them in good order, you're going to blind every oncoming driver and probably not be any happier with your night driving visibility.

I wouldnt buy aftermarket heads from ebay...if youre looking for nice headlights either do a custom retrofit of look elsehwere, hids arent bad on ebay if you get bixenons however theres still custom work to be done to the 4th gen reflectors to get it so you see bette and dont **** people off at night

Thanks for the input guys. This all being said, where would you recommend a good place to buy replacement housings seeing as that is my primary motivation to buy new lights. Can't stand all the yellow. Have had a hard time getting it to come off in south florida so i'm just throwing in the towel and replacing them

I bought some regular (not HID) headlights on ebay for $60 shipped about a year ago. I've been very happy with them. They were eagle eyes brand. My primary reason for replacement was I have a 96 with cloudy glass and I wanted the clear plastic look of 97-99. The new lenses aren't showing any sign of clouding up yet, but yes, it has only been a year.

If your looking to clear the film/yellowing of your headlights, McGuires sells a product that restores them to clear again. Goes for like $24 at Advance Auto

I agree! Less work, and it's plug and play.

This. Even though I do like the look of a simple retro in stock housings. I'll post a pic of one I did recently.
