exhaust issue/fixing it?
![](http://www.end-era.com/97exhaustdiagram.gif)
note:
black arrow: current issue cracked/severed portion just before the end piece i will call "triangular-like" before the gasket
red arrow: previous issue where it was just cracked/severed
i had a similar problem before - where the red arrow is and i was able to have it fixed for $30.
but ive gotta go tomorrow and get quotes for this issue with the new max except im short on funds, what do you guys think this might be in labour? is it a simple weld fix like previously or not due to the fact of how its connected to an end triangular-like piece? the triangular-like end piece belonging to it is actually still on the tubing just that its still screwed onto the gasket on the other side lol. so im not sure if ill have to replace this whole area or if they can weld it back together for me easily. its all pretty rusted too

thoughts?
im hoping it doesnt cost too much. i cant exactly buy that section now could i? :S
thanks
on further thought:
i guess they can just weld in a new piece of piping kinda like the previous issue thats probably im guessing what ill do if its the cheapest method like if they just cut out that whole gasket+bolts section and add in a new solid piece? its not really that necessary to have is it!?... (other than for convenience for removing the muffler section etc). the muffler seems fine and newer so i dont think ill need to be removing that section easily to replace it any time soon so the convenience of the bolted section and gasket be it all rusty anyhow isnt really an issue i suppose. yea? haha

Why don't you just replace the resonator pipe with the broken "flange"?
Does the muffler still have the "flange" in place or is that gone from your previous issue?
If it's gone, you'll need to replace both the muffler and the resonator pipe.
Your weld repairs are just patch jobs which will eventually fail again.
Replace the old parts and never look back.
