Do our Bumpers need a Flex Additive?
I just finished all the body work, priming, and sanding yesterday.
Will the bumpers and trunk spoiler need a flex additive added to the basecoat and clearcoat or could I get away with just using less hardener? The local shop sold the additive for $55 a quart, which is much more than needed.

I drove 78 miles to a friends' autobody shop to get a free half pint of flex additive. With the basecoat and clearcoat both urethane based he said I really didn't need a flex additive. He adds it only to acrylic enamel paints.

I just painted a rear plastic aftermarket cover. I used a naptha cleaning agent and then a product called "Bulldog" for adherence. Those two items are essential. After that (according to my paint shop), you can go the belt & suspenders route by using SEM flexible primer and adding flex additive to the paint/clear. I didn't, and so far so good.......
