spitting at idle and hesitant below 2000 rpm

97 5 speed maxima. hay guys havent been on in awhile. well i was caught in a storm on friday and drove through 1 foot of water in west chester. ive been having probs ever since. i noticed yesterday that the car spits at idle and hesitates sometimes when pulling off up to about 2000rpm. i replaced the maf with a extra one i had and no difference, checked all plugs and coil packs. the threads on the plugs seemed to have water on them and cylinder one plug seemed to be whiter than the other but when i unplugged each pack and injector down the line, they all made in the idle which is weird because if the injector wasnt spraying in cylinder causing it to be white, it would mean it wouldnt affect the idle which means its spraying after all correct? anyway would a leak in the exhaust cause it to spit becuz of air leaking pass the o2 sensors or is it possible water is in the engine or found its way to the fuel system. another weird thing is its actually pulling harder than it was before the problem occured which is really throwing me off. problem makes the car more powerful?lmao help me out guys

What kind of intake set up do you have on the car?

Well with a short ram, i find it hard to believe any water damage to internal parts of engine.

U may have a problem with the crank sensors (these sensors are mounted on the lower most parts of the engine) or water clogged cat??

srry no cats on my car. straight through exhaust. ill check the crank sensors too for water damage. a bad o2 sensor would cause a car to spit would it. just curious. not saying its bad

If you had a CAI I'd guess that you sucked up some water but being that you're SRI, I doubt it.

The problem is probably sensor related.
