ok so a while back i posted a thread with a trans problem i had i determined that the solenoids were faulty and the best way to fix it would be to just buy a used valve body.

thanks to this forum and mcsteve to be exact i bought a used tranny from an 01 and a trango HD2 shift kit for 120 bones. my plan is to remove the 01 valve body have a friend that is a trans guy install the kit and swap it with mine.
if theres a problem i could always just swap the whole trans.

i have 2 questions
1) if anyone has a transgo kit on their max can you post a video? (there were many g35s on youtube but no maxes)
2)wil i run into problems with an 01 valve body in a 99?

Try the motor section maybe??

the shift kit and valve body are getting swapped in sunday so if i can figure out how to post a video i will

 

I can't wait to see that video. I got the nissan upgrade solenoid pack and the transgo shift kit collecting dust. When I had my car raised last weekend I had an urge to drop that tranny pan but I didn't have the time.

I talked with another member who installed that shift kit. He said it was the best modification he ever made. It even outweighed his 00VI installation. He totaled the MAX last spring so he no longer chats here.

 

I've got a the Reprogramming kit laying in my too box at work I need to install. Let me know how that tranny shifts and the preformance gians you feel.

 

you can expect a REAL FIRM fast shift from 1-2 and 3-4 shifts almost feel normal. Under W.O.T you might even get a 2nd gear chirp!

with the stock tires and the drop resistor mod, stock 95 auto trans with 311K on it, i get a 2nd gear chirp ...no shift kit...yet...

 

Ok so yesterday was the day of the install and after research I read that the 01 VB is the same as the 99 this is not the case the line pressure solenoid is bigger in the 01 so I decided to leave my solenoids in the trans and just swap the VB no dice the wires from the 4th gen go out of the case and are not serviceable ugh... So now after work I am going to have to swap a solenoid and cut and splice a wire to make it work

So now for the bright side today I will be going VVVVVVRRRRRRRRRSCREEEEECHVRRRRRR
notice there's no pause

 

has anyone ever swapped an 01 i30 auto trans into a 4th gen

i know many of you have swapped a manual but thats not he case for me i just want to replace my trans bolt and go style
