OK. Picked her up Sept 10 and haven't really done much to her until the last month or so. I don't have a picture of the car when I first got it, didn't really think much of it. I was in a 2000 Lincoln LS before and the motor crapped out while I was on vacation so I bought the max as a quick set of wheels.
Goods:
$1800 for a descent running car
Its a Max
Manual
Bads:
Its a Max
160K now
Axles are done for
Severe rust parts
Hail damage on hood and rood
Misc BS
Already replaced KS, Battery, Alternator
So yea, it's full of problems but is also a lot of fun
So far:
Painted headlights & running lights
Tinted tails, corners, side markers
Painted brake calipers
Removed 90% under hood AC components
Painted under hood
Switched running lights to turn signals and vice versa
Removed crappy purpled tint
90% Interior LED swap
Shampooed the carpet (was very nasty)
Dropped her quite a bit
Painted grill
Enough of the garble, onto the pix
Thoughts, comments, questions, jive?

Twas an old pic. I had blue leds behind the needles at the time and had only sanded the orange off. Now I have white LEDs illuminating the cluster. I threw a sheet of paper under the needles and used a metallic blue fingernail polish I picked up from walmart to paint them I felt so buying fingernail polish but it was worth it. I will try to get an updated cluster pic soon
xtereme - they are very easy to do. Grab a soldering iron, some leds, and resistors and have at it

Thank you
And what would be the fun in that? Having a fully functional, non frankensteined car? lol that is not me. If I can make something difficult, I will. I want my car to be a one-off original. Might turn out like siht, but at least its my siht. lol

You could also use Pactra R/C car body paint, which actually sticks to the needles better, and is semi transparent so it carries light throuth the needle better. Thats what I used in my guages. Best part no feeling @ Walmart

Hehe I figured someone would catch that :P
Have been lazy for the last week, therefor have been driving without my speedo cluster all week long :/ But I did manage to get a few things done today
I HATE me a tan interior, so I had some fun
Then I replaced my poor sway bar end links
While re-installing my painted interior pieces I kept hearing a clicking sound. Was faint, but almost sounded like a turn signal was on. None were on, the key was NOT in the ignition so no ACC power at all. Traced the noise down to my IACV...wtf?
My question is why in the world is any sort of power going to the IACV when there isn't even a key in the ignition?

It shouldn't do it continously, unless it's not functioning properly. Usually the clicking happens once when the ignition is turned on without the car starting, but IIRC that's the Evap solenoid valve with the step motor postitioning itself before the engine cranks.
Keep in consideration that the IACV does control your air from the intake, so if it's clicking, once again, it may be done, or just needs a through cleaning.
I hope it helps

Got a couple more things done today...still no speedo lol
Got a mirror kit from somewhere and installed it. Only needed power and ground Has temp and compass as well as auto dim Need to figure out how to cover up the yellow plastic though. Looks tacky.
Replaced the 194 courtesy bulbs in the doors with a bigger, brighter bulb

Haha. People have such a bad misconception about "rattle can" but to each his own. And I plan on leaving the car the color it is now.
