I was ****ing around in my engine bay today and saw this.

This picture is taken from the driver's side of my engine bay. The airbox is to the bottom right of the picture.

I tried followed it, but it dives straight down into the abyss.

THat **** connects to nothing on all the Maximas I come across

 

this is true... it connects to nothing. its like a breather/vent of some sort... or possibly useless. i think it runs to a couple steel tubes that run in front of the egr system that go to the back of the motor. i didnt really pay attention when replacing my egr system so not positive on that one...

 

IIRC its a transmission breather hose

 

It's your NOS intake tube...obviously.

 

 

THIS! no NOT plug it or block it in ANY way, just let it be, its factory, and normal

 

tiss the trans breather for both auto and manual transmission

Yup, tranny breather hose as stated already. It seems we get this question about once a month here on the org.

BTW, I think that hose lets air in and out of your transmission as it goes through heat cycles. Some may call it a vent hose. I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but don't plug it up.

 

 

Thats the vacuum source for the optional **** pump, part of the adult entertainment package.

I have also cut mine down. Doesn't seem to have any effect on it's purpose.
