'97SE & '92SE New Front Wheel Bearings?

I have a horid scraping/grinding/groaning/rubbing sound coming from the front pasenger side wheel of both of my cars when driving. The '97SE has 136K on the clock and the '92SE has 156K.
The sound is constant while the cars are moving and is unaffected by braking. I hink it's the dreaded wheel bearing! However, when I jacked up the cars and did the 12/6 o'**** shake the tire test I get no play.
However, if you spin the wheels while jacked up in the air you can hear the scraping/rubbing sound. It definitely sounds like metal to metal contact somewhere (like a train rolling on metal track). I've pushed back the baffle plate as far as possible to make sure it isn't that rubbing against the rotor.

I guess my questions are the following:

Do you guys think it's the wheel bearing?
Can I do this repair in the driveway with simple tools (without a press)?
It looks like you have to deconstruct the whole innerworkings of the hub to replace the bearing. Is there any place that sells the entire hub with bearing already packed (it looks like rock auto doesn't)?
How long does this job take?
How much would this job cost to take to shop / dealer?
Should I replace the other side as well? Should both be changed at the same time.

My guess; something is scraping on your brakes. Take them apart and check and make sure you put them together right.
