interior light issue

interior light issue
this happened again today.
no interior light that come on with the first level on the light stalk. and when i put it to the second level headlights do come on but still no int light
tail lights work when i pump the brake, otherwise no
clearance light dont come on.
the messed up part is that i saw some smoke comig out of my steering column right before this happened.
need help asap

No int. lights = check the dimmer switch position.
No clearance lights?
Are you referring to parking lights on the front fender and bumper?
The smoke might be telling you something...
