A 98 Maxima owner catches his neighbor in a dastardly deed!

The other day I was washing my 98 Maxima and I saw my neighbor with an unfamiliar new car blocking the street, as he had moved his car to the adjacent parallel position as you would when doing a jump start on car with a dead battery.

I wasn't really paying attention until I took a closer look. He had a long rubber cord running from the unfamiliar new car to his normal vehicle. On closer inspection, it was a red A/C charging hose.

The unfamiliar brand new vehicle had a Rental Car agency sticker on it. My neighbor was literally sucking the freon out of the rental car and ingesting it into his own car!

Two years ago, my Maxima's right mirror was knocked off. I never found out who did it. It was just hanging off the car, kind of like an eye out of the socket. Since we live in a remote cul de sac, I thought the chances were high that the person who did it lived on the same street, which didn't make sense since most of my neighbors are pretty decent people who would have reported their culpability to me. I think I know who did it now...

Lmao... instead of wasting all that time and energy to steal some freon he should be trying to find a job. Damn ghetto people.

You never know what kind of neighbors you have until you catch them doing something stupid or unexpected. For example, I live in a nice suburb area where all the houses were $350K+. My neighbor across the street, from Greece, were very nice and quiet people; we have occasional chats here and there and sometimes the wife even brings over toys for my little girls. Well, all that changed when one day, my car was parked on my side of the street, the wife backed up into the side of my car causing a big dent. I heard the noise from inside the house and went to look and saw my neighbor's car speeding away. I went to check my car and saw the damage. I thought...I'll wait for her to come home and tell it to me! Then we can settle it. That moment never came. I didn't want to approach her and her husband about it either because I didn't have proof that I saw it in person; it would be my words against hers and this could escalate into something I don't want. As a result, I lose all respect and un-friend my neighbor to the point where I don't even wave to them anymore. Total cost to repair the damage was $400.

^ i would've mentioned it. chances are paint would have been traded and you'd atleast have that on your side. you had nothing to lose that you didn't already lose. in fact, they might've paid for it. you never really know. people panic in situations like that and make out-of-character decisions.

wow dude. you really ****ed yourself. unless they were driving a hummer or something with a metal bumper, theres almost no way to hit somebody and not leave a little bit of evidence on your own car.

10 years ago when i was on the East Coast.I once scraped a neighbor's car door at 2 in the morning and left a note on his car. Boy he was banging on the door the next afternoon demanding $900. i was naive and new to the neighborhood at the time and didn't know autobody. I think it was closer to $700.

The thing that was funny was the relationship between him and his wife. Thy simply ignored each other. She would come home from work, looking tired and miserable. He was retired, or out of work, and would be sitting on the porch. They wouldn't exchange greetings, even acknowledge each other's presence! Of course they weren't exactly both 21. You couldn't feel a drop of emotion between the two.

That extra $200 wasn't going to buy him any happiness.

I better get to my point. For years I've loaned ou tools and helped people with their car trouble. Once in a while though I get cynical. I sure hope I don't change.
