So,
I took my car down to be smogged, turn key to ON and no CEL came on. Checked the bulb, it was fine. The ECU is failing to ground the bulb, so it intermitently comes on when it wants for a Purge valve, however, I plug in an aftermarket ECU and the CEL comes on all the time. So, the stock ECU is bad. I call Sacramento Junk yard and give them the specs:

production: 6/94
CA/Auto
VIN: JN1CA21D8ST032481

They give me the JECS (Japanese Electronic Corp) # A18B42EL1
Check the ecu on the car # A18B44EL3

The junk yard doesnt have my # in there system. So I go down to my local Dealer, and they tell me the Nissan # is Different than the JECS #. So, the dealer had no clue on what I should do, the Junk yard wont confirm the ECU will work, and only will give me instore credit for the $175 ECU if it doesnt work.

My question:
Will the Junk yard ECU work in my car?
Where can I get an ECU that will work in my car so I can sell/smog it?

So,

 

Any 95 auto ECU will work.
Fed spec would be even better for you since it wouldn't be looking for your purge valve that's bad.
$175 is a rip off though. A auto ECU is worth no more then $50
