ok, looked at threads pertaining to this and they all deal with a used or original alternator noise. its a 125 amp alternator from napa and was'nt cheap and after i run her for a little while, ill park, she cools off and ill start, and it whines and gets louder when i rev it and my mechanic said def the alt. it comes and goes, idler pulley is new with alternator, maybe belts are a little tight or the rebuilt alty is just crap??? its random, maybe the hids or stereo causing the alty to work a little harder?? cap maybe???

 

That stinks. If it's the alternator bearings, then I would be tempted to loosen the belt and maybe get a replacement from Napa.

Either that or tell people you have a roots blower under the hood.

this is the second one btw, and it seems that this alternator has the same whine as the first one. first one lasted for 9 months, so hopefully i make it to spring. remanned alternators ftl. so, anyone think it could be hids or stereo???

 

My alt caught fire while coming from class. Got mine from advance 4 months ago, everything good till this day.
