starting troubles again

when i bought my max half a year ago it had starting issues. sometimes it started perfectly fine while other times i didn't get any reaction from turning the key until the 2nd or 3rd turn. i replaced the ignition switch and everything seemed fine after that, but recently the same problem has come back i remember reading about people facing the same scenario but i don't recall what they did or where i could read it again. does anyone know what i should do?

If it's doing exactly the same thing as last time, and replacing the ignition switch fixed it before, I would look to make sure that the new ignition switch was not coming loose from the key cylinder, and that it was still plugged in well.

What people have done is to remove the ignition switch and insert a small piece of duct tape in the slot where the key goes into it. This causes the ignition switch to get turned a little bit more. It is not a guaranteed fix. It works for some but not for others. You may still need a new ignition switch as BobFlood suggested.

If you do this, don't use a giant piece of tape as it can jam.

Check out this link, specifically the photo in post # 36.

mine turned out to be the starter, thought it was the ignition switch did the 'fix' but it would continue to have problems, more and more frequently. Finally changed out the starter and no problems since then.
