Whats this hose?

Anyone know what this hose is for? It dies not seal on its connection due to being burnt. Can this cause any problems? It goes under the intake manifold passenger side. Can not figure out how to load pictures so I hope link works

That is part of the crankcase ventilation system. It connects the 2 valve cover chambers so that the one PCV valve can do both sides of the engine. I had to replace my hose when I did valve cover gaskets because my hose was so brittle that it cracked when I took it off.

Can't tell from the pics but it looks to be your pcv hose or one of the crankcase ventilation hoses, so yes it will cause problems if its not sealing properly.

If I'm not mistaken, it's a vacuum hose that bridges from the front valve cover to the rear valve cover.

If it's cracked or if it's not holding a seal I'd get a hose and replace it. I replaced mine with a generic aftermarket hose.

Generic hose works well. Make sure the diameter is the same (Take your old hose when you go to AZ or O'reilly, etc). Get it fixed as soon as possible.

You can get moister/water or other contaminants in the valve cover. That is not a good thing.

Yeah I broke down and went to the local dealership. It was $13.97 so I ordered it. If it was $40 as stated above I would have passed.
