you are going to loose torque.. unless you have 100 shot of NOS or running high boost SuperCharger.. its worthless

if you have an aftermarket y pipe.. just get the Apex'i WS Catback.. its a nice addtion to any Aftermarket Y pipe.. nice sound.. very quiet.. and close to stock.. car pulls like a **** at high speeds..

if you have a stock y pipe.. get rid of that baby ASAP.. get the 2.5 version from whomever out there.. do a search and see which one you like.. i am bias to the cattman y pipe.. so i can't tell you to listen to me based on that.. their has been many battles on y pipes.. you will see

I would go back down to 2.5". Like Sprite said, unless you are boosted or NOSed, stay away from teh 3" exhaust.

Is your Y-pipe 3" too?

Sprint correct me if Im wrong, but it's been my experience that a lot of people running boost are still using 2.5" Y Pipes and such. In other words, even if you are running boost, the difference between a 2.5" and a 3" pipe is minimal.

thats why i said HIGH boost.. 6 - 8 PSI isn't going to give much gain on the 3 inch

Mark:

Things that are making you lose torque and off-the-line power:

1)Pop charger
2)3" Piping

The CAI will get rid of that pop-charger lag. Going to a 2.5" pipe will also solve your 3" loss woes.

3 inch is way too big, 2.5 is best for the NA max, other wise 3 inch is good for turbo or sc or large nitros shot. i would suggest just getting a 2.5inch bpipe and cat and youll be good.

Wouldn't 3 inch give mad power up top even on N/A? (with heavy mods of course, but no NOS, turbo or S/C?)

I'm curious. How does a flowmaster sound on a Max? I know it doesn't sound like a 5.0

A flomaster would sound very nice. Any muffler would basically sound nice on the Max because of our engine size. Stupid rice boys try to put those on their little economy cars and it sounds like a damn hive of bees.

I have a flowmaster on my car and it sounds
good. Lots of people ask me what I have done to
the car because it sounds good unlike the hondas.
I also just put on the warp speed y pipe and it
just made it a little deeper.
