Lookie What I got at the Junk Yard today!
Thanks to another .org member and friend of mine for a tip off on an 01' Maxima at the local junk yard I was able to get all of this for $47.95.
It's okay to be Jelly.

No, unfortunately the VIAS was already gone. Honestly for what I paid I can't complain. I made out with over %70 of the shopping list. Upper and lower IMF, fuel rail, injectors, throttle body, and rear valve cover. I'm perfectly content with what I got.
I didn't get the egr tube. I'll probably go back tomorrow and pull it. I'm not sure if I'm just going to block it off or not.

I'll sell you my VIAS I'm in the process of removing it since I'm turboing the car, its in great condition the cup is on there strong I checked it already, the car is auto and was owned by an older guy who was a computer tech (IT) so he did lots of miles (175k) but the car almost never hit 5k rpms.

The power rod comes out the other end from where the vias is supposed to be. The power rod is designed to switch over from long runners to the short runners for building higher rpm power. If you do remove it, you will see some low end and mid range loss, but it will pick up and pull past 5,000 rpm. From research i've done, you will want to raise the rev limiter to 7,000 rpm or a little higher to take advantage of the missing power rod.

Here's an informative link on the 00VI install, just click on 00VI swap at the left http://tatanko.boredmder.com/
I'll sell you my vias like I said before since I don't need it anymore.

I was thinking about picking up a Greedy E-Manage by the end of the month. It should work to activate it at any given RPM when configured properly, yes?
I have almost all the bolts and a few misc bits and pieces not shown in the picture. only thing really missing is the VIAS
Thanks for the link! I'll be doing a lot of reading for the next few months. How much do you want for the VIAS shipped to 84102? I might be down to grab it now, even though I don't plan to install this until after winter.
Thanks again everyone for your input and help. Can't wait to get this baby installed.

I do remember reading in a thread somewhere a while back that something as simple as a VTEC controller will work, but don't hold me to that.

I wish I could answer that question for you, but I honestly do not know. I've never used a Greddy E-manage, but I've heard that the E-Manage Ultimate has alot of features. Perhaps someone who has already done the swap could chime in on this.

I can confirm that the EU has a built in vtech control and matter of fact it has an option for nissan's "famous" vias. I've never used it but I have seen it in the manual, either way an EU will work. A vafc or vafc2 or any other vtech controller will also work, even just a simple rpm switch will also work. All you need is at whatever rpm you want it to open for something to send a voltage signal to the solenoid. Its that simple!

The factory setting for the De-K is about 5K. It might benefit it or not to open it up a bit sooner. Bolt on's such as headers and exhaust, intake, etc could possibly shift the transition point. Some dyno tests could help optimize it if you really want it that accurate.

Damn good deal. I got a complete 00vi from pull-n-save out by RMR for 20 bucks this summer. My friends brother is the manager there, so He only charged me for some parts on my S10. Good to know people. lol.
For all you got there, thats a sweet deal man

I have a youtube video of my car on the dyno as it mostly sits right now.
A32 Dyno 10/29/11
253,XXX miles
Mods: pop charge intake (still had the accordion hose and the black box between TB and MAF) OBX-R catback exhaust and Mishimoto Radiator.
169.1 ft-lb torque at 3500rpm
156.5 HP at 5650rpm
uncorrected at about 4400ft
on a Dynojet Dynometer
I think this will serve as a very good bass run for future mods, including the 00VI. I hope to get it on by spring next year and followup with another video and dyno results.
