who has a G-force upgrade ? for you
Do you like it?
Any bad things that go along with it?
could you feel the gain?
what area did your car benefit most from it (low end etc)?
trying to find someone close to my car
96 5speed 96,000
thanks

None of the ECU upgrades for the Max are worth the money. My friend got a superchip for like $220ish and it added about 30HP. The ECU's for the Maxi are at least twice that much and add like 10-15HP. Woohoo.
It seems that every mod for the Max has less results versus other cars...stupid VQ is just too damn good.

I dont know much about the UPRD ECU, but the JWT ECU works great on my 97 maxima. This has been my favorite modification to my car. Every once in a while I put my stock ECU back in to see how the car responds and the car becomes so sluggish. My car is much more fun to drive with the moddified ECU. I only wish I had a 95/96 Maxima to reap the full benefits of it.

Go for the JWT ECU >>>>>>>
I installed one in my 1995 SE Auot and immediately felt a big difference just from that MOD Alone !!!! Using a VERICOM perfomance computer I measured about a 12 FWHP gain which translate to about a 15-17 Crank Hp gain, with the JWT Chip, Y-pipe and homemade BOBO intake my car made 175 rwhp on the dyno and 193 RWTorque. Get the JWT ECU you will NOT be disappointed.

The Thing Is...
JWT = $600+
G Force = $300+
However the JWT is programmed especially for your specific car. The G Force is a more universal ECU (not car-specific). If you have numerous engine mods the JWT is much more useful.

Hey sprintmax, do you mean the NOS Module/ECU that they offer?

Man, it's too bad our Max's can't just swap out a chip like some can--I think prices would be a lot more reasonable. Taking out the ECU and sending it in is a pain. At least it sounds like with JWT you can also buy it, and send in your stock ECU later (with Core charge) but at $600, that is too damn much! I think JWT would be better off pricing it at $300 and selling three times as many... Reprogramming surely can't be THAT labor intensive can it? If you are talking 10-15hp gain, I think most would find no more than $400 reasonable.

the only reason the maxima only gets 15 hp.. is because the igntion is so advance.. and its hard to advance the timing..

Sounds like a good deal to me.

I'm sure as hell willing to pay $400 for another 15 hp. I already paid $350 for a used cattman SS, why not pay another 400 for a good thick 15 hp and tq throughout the powerband and have as much power as a 5th gen.

Would it still work good temporarily without a new ECU. I ask because JWT to my knowledge still does not make a ECU upgrade for my 98, so curious if it would help in the meantime. Just wishfull thinking really.

I have a JWT
I bought it used for $400 and I love it.. If you have a '95/96 Auto I would get a used JWT ECU before any brand Y pipe... No install fee's, no force fitting, no worry about emission testing, no rapid depreciation and no worrys of failed Y pipe in the future.. Just plug and play..

Hmmm
So who's done this, Wodae'??? Would you car run normal(gas mileage)?
