A/C Buttons no longer illuminate after replacing Bose Head Unit?

Hi, I recently replaced my Bose Head Unit with a Kenwood KDC-248u and for some reason my AC controls no longer illuminate.

Everything below illuminates properly, it's just the AC button controls.

I checked all the connections and everything seemed plugged in and secure, there was an illumination wire for the Kenwood KDC-248u but I couldn't find a wire to connect it to, I was wondering if anyone knows any more details or could explain to me what I might've done wrong or the proper steps to fixing it?

Any help is appreciated! Thank you.

remove the controls and look at the wire harness connectors for the a/c controls. Specifically, look for 2 wires, a blue/yellow stripe and a red/yellow stripe. These are the power and ground wires for the lights. Check that these wires have not broken off and also check that the pins are not backing out of the connector.

I have a 1997 Maxima GLE version if that matters at all.
