QFT. Switching to synthetic causes leaks. Leaks cause low oil. Low oil Cass knocking in rods an ticking in valves. Check your freaking oil.

My dip stick works great on both my VQ's.....the oil return in right above the dipstick so waiting about 5-10 min after shutdown is necessary to read your dipstick guys! That is not a rod noise but possible low oil causing your cams followers (tappets) to click....If you do have a sufficient oil level then maybe adding some SEAFOAM too your oil will clear that noise......But if you keep running that engine low on oil you might get your rod knock real soon!

Isn't it a big NO NO to go back to High Milage after switching to Synthetic? I was under the impression that once you go Synthetic you are stuck with it. Is there any truth to that?
