so i assume my timing tensioner went bad and caused the timing to jump a little. anyways, after days of it driving like ****, my car would no longer run.
i have the fear that i bent my valves, but i sure hope not. anyways, since the motor will be apart, is it possible to install 00-01 heads? i found some for cheap. so any help?

00-01 Heads cheaper than a 95-99 motor??? Even if they're free, it's not really worth all of the effort of changing heads.
Here's what you should do:
1. Craigslist.
2. Find motor for $300.
3. Profit.

he can already get the whole motor for less than 300... be it a de or de-k...
not sure why you wanna change the heads dude. supposedly the cams are even less aggressive than the stock de... i believe i read that in the cams thread... and like they said, i doubt you jumped timing... even if the chain tensioner was bad the other two guides would keep it in line.

5th gen flow better but have larger cumbustion chambers, resulting in lower compression. People swap 3.5 cams into 3.0 heads for higher lift.
well the heads are $90 on CL. so i figured why not. anyways, one shop already took to damn long then charged me $30 for him looking at it. even though all he did was try and turn it over. so i took it somewhere else. i ran out of driveway space to have another broke-down car.
hah. nels. shame on you. $50 my ***.
guy at shop said all cylinders had about 20 psi. soo, im thinkin new motor for now and parting out the old one. or swapping my good parts like UDP and intake.
