Switch on trunk lock part # ?

1998 Maxima GXE

There is a switch attached to the trunk lock assy. I believe it may be for the alarm? Mine broke when I had to remove the trunk lock. Anyone have a clue what part number the switch is? I went to my local NIssan dealer and he was clue less. Said he never heard of that and his diagrams did not show this.

The key in the trunk does not connect to the mechanical opening mechanism. The key operates the switch and the switch applies ground to a solenoid that opens the trunk. I don't think it has anything to do with the alarm.

Ok I was curious because It is in the trash broken and everything works. I can open the trunk with the remote, key or switch on drivers door no problem. when I set the alrm with the remote the lights flash but the red alarm light stays solid now instead of blinking. Guess it is one of those mystery switches. Guess if dealer has no clue no one does lol.

The key does open the trunk by mechanical means. That switch is for the alarm. It disarms the alarm when the key is used. Also the alarm won't go into sleep mode with it missing or broken.
