We can get a list together.....and present to either BRM or MES it doesn't matter too me.....I'll work on the MES side and give them all the measurements necessary.....We're awaiting all the complainers to step up too the plate.....Put up or shut up! See folks Cattman has a Method To His Madness....and so does BRM and MES...it's called business folks! So let's get the ball rolling and do this ASAP!

I'm keeping track of all those interested in a 3" and talking **** about our performance Guru, Cattman! The list only has 3 names on it and I would've expected more since everyone was talking so much crap......where yall at????? BRM needs ppl, So Does Does Cattman, and MES.....Just so yall know, I'll be experimenting with some HeartThrob exhaust components on my 4th gen's 2.5" catback since, I don't like Flowmaster mufflers......

What would the difference be between the two other than resonator and muffler? Sure BRM sounds good but id prefer a longer resonator on a 3" exhaust. I dont see how you couldnt make MES sound just as good if not better with the right res/muffler combo

I don't know if you checked out BRM's website, but your options kinda suck with them. In other words, you have none! You get a standard single wall tip, and 14" resonator with the 3" system. I paused the video on the 5th gen and looked at the muffler, it's one of the smaller designs from Magnaflow... All in all this is gonna add up to a loud exhaust... My suggestion, buy $350-400 worth of parts and go make friends with a local shop...

http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...e=main&id=9653

18" res + large 5x8x14 muffler + 9" Dual wall angled tip should make a pretty nice sounding exhaust... There are some even larger (longer) mufflers but im not sure how long of one you could cram under there...

Thats basically what my plan was before these threads started was to go custom. Buy the piping and have an exhaust shop do the work. But I didnt really want to go the crush bent exhaust route if i didnt have to

you could always find a shop that has a real bender... or you could buy one of those kits offered in various places with pre-fab'd mandrel bent sections? that would require a bit more welding to put them all together but if you dont have access to a mandrel bender, its an option...

just from looking at their options, I personally wouldnt go with the cookie cutter exhaust, but at the end of the day... its still just my opinion. if ten of you give it a shot, maybe itll be a good thing!

You're basically doing the same thing BRM except for the 18" resonator.....14" mufflers are loud period.....5' x 8" x 18" or 5" x 11" x 22" handle the sound duties well!

I may be interested in a second batch. I was waiting on Cattmans second batch just incase something went wrong. We know how that turned out.

basically yes.. but doing it yourself means you have the choices... brm will give you a single wall tip, small muffler, and short res... soooo, buy a bigger res, a better tip, and a larger muffler yourself, and get-r-done!

I only picked the 14" because I wasnt quite sure how much room was under there before the beam... If the muffler is too long then you wont be able to make the bend before the beam... *remembers Keems straight 4"* then again, that may not matter on my CO's! If you can cram the 18" in there awesome or even the larger 5x11x22 and youd be golden!

If I read the other thread correctly MES is just the piping and you're on your own for the components, flanges, and welding?

Not looking to weld up a 3" even if it's pre bent pipe. I just did the box-o-bends and components thing for my other car and I'm not looking to do anything similar for a while.

Count me in for a 3" BRM. Edit* 304 stainless 3"

No MES is everything but the mufflers and resonator....The flanges , isolator hooks, gaskets, and hardware is included...the car owner assembles or take the kit to a muffler shop and let's them install it for them....I mocked up all my exhaust and let a muffler weld my marked pieces and then I installed everything...I went with Magnaflow muffler and the car is drone free and exotic sounding (3rd Gen VG)....You might wanna ride the BRM email reply before you yank your d**k to hard....BRM's not gonna do crap for Maximas!

I just fitted an extra Cattman 22" long resonator on my custom 2.5" catback....there's enough room for a 26" resonator to be honest!

I could deal with fitting a res in but the muffler would be a pain in the ***** to get perfect with the 3 hangers. My schedule is retarted and from a time aspect, I would rather spend it elsewhere.. Besides, I know if I were to start cutting an welding, I would start at the cattman Y and do a 3" flex-back.

And FWIW, I wouldn't want to take 304 to get welded at a muffler shop. 99% of the time they're going to use 409/mild wire in thier mig and the welds are going to rust.

your talking about the cat back part... im talking behind the rear beam... there is limited space between the beam and the bumper... it limits the size of the muffler you can use. As for the res, the longest one I could find with 3 in 3 out was the 18" so thats what i went with.

That's correct from Magnaflow! Thrush Exhaust Glasspack 24241 3" x 20"L, HeartThrob Flowpacks 4418904/4424904, 3" in/out 4" body, 18"L/24" L.....

Im still not understanding the reasons behind not wanting a MES over BRM or vice-versa. I would think people appreciate ANY company willing to produce aftermarket performance parts for our cars regardless of who makes it, as long as its done the right way. Even if its just a piping kit its still better than a crush bend ID custom 3" exhaust. I had an interesting encounter with a F150 Lightning last night and with my ebay headers and exhaust it was suprisingly close. Im just thinking wat a 3" ypipe and exhaust would do

Oh well guess ill just use my money to get coilovers and be hellaflushmadhellajdmyomadhellahellajdm like everyone else and hold off on the exhaust until furthur notice

I've emailed MES regarding you 4th Gen guys and that 3" catback thirst yall need to quench...I've worked with them B4 creating a 3rd Gen Performance catback line....So hopefully 5 ppl will be the magic minimum required number like it was with the 3rd Gen catback, and even that grew into about 8-10 ppl B4 it was over! Cross your fingers guys...

I got one of these but in 2.5" and used it as a b pipe with a dynamax super turbo muffler, it is a fairly quiet setup.

BRM hasn't decided on whether they're going to produce them, yet. Give it some time.
