ok so my muffler tip broke off the other day and i wanted to get it welded on and the guy at the shop told me i shouldnt do that since the torch can burn a whole through the muffler since the metal is thin. Either way i wanted to buy a new one cuz welding it was gonna be about 40-50 bucks..so i spoke to my friend and he got me a brand new stock replacement muffler for $90. now i wanna know if you guy got any tips or anything so that nothing can go wrong you know? from experiences you guys have had. Maybe i can look out for things instead of running into them lol i already bought wd-40 since i know its gonna be really rusty

 

If its a stock replacement without the flange then you'll have to weld it on. If it has the flange on it then all you need to do is unbolt the two 14mm nuts and pull it off the 3 rubber exhaust hangers.

lol I want to know how many muffler tips on the stock muffler rust out and fall off. I live in the south where rust isn't a problem and mine fell off about 3 years ago so when the muffler was 13yrs oldish. Im sure up north it happens even sooner

 

yea happens to a lot of my friends too..the salt on the road from winter when it snows completely destroys the underneath of cars..i cant even jack up my car from the side i have to do it from the main chassis because there so much rust that it just starts breaking as i jack it up..smh

 

i think rust is the only thing that keeps me from leaving arizona lol
