New Owner Here Saying Hey !

Wassup .org Im Trae Im 18, and I just purchased a 98 Black Nissan Maxima. Love Maximas more than anything and this will be what my first car should have been, a nice semi sporty sedan that I can mod, will last a lifetime and will love no matter what is wrong with the car . Coming from a 2000 Ford Taurus, you can see where I went wrong ! I posted here before, about getting a 2000 Maxima from my sister but changed my mind. Anyways Im from Rochester,NY so anybody that lives here or upstate area maybe we can meet up sometime. I hope to attend meets and get to know others on the forum because it seems like a cool place. Welp thats pretty much it, but its great to be a Maxima Owner ! Have pics, just gotta upload them.

Hey there Trae, welcome man!

There's a bunch of you folks up in the NE, you get all the action up there! damn

The best thing you can do here is to learn to search, any problems or issues or questions you have are likely listed somewhere, there's the FAQs at the top of the page here, learn those...same with the "how-to" section, some easy mods and what not.

Post pics man!

Coming from a 2k Taurus? wow. I learned to drive in a Taurus in school...think it was a 99 or something...a big bubble

Trae, welcome to the world of Maximas. I have an '04 w/ a Flowmaster exhaust, and the sound from my 3.5 is unbelievable! Do yourself a favor, and get some sound-deadening material from ebay, and switch oil to Amsoil.

'04 Max

Hey everyone! I have a '04 Max, that has a slight howling noise coming from the right front...seems to be audible between 45-55mph, then goes away at speeds above that. It sort of sounds like wind blast at the sunroof, but I have pretty much ruled that out. Car has the 5sp auto, and less than 45k miles. CV joint maybe?

START YOUR OWN THREAD

Howling noise is not CV. CV is ticktickticktick when you turn.

Amsoil is a fully synthetic fluid. Longer lasting between oil changes, etc. It's great transmission fluid too, if you plan on changing yoru tranny fluid, use that stuff!

YOu have it easy with the y-pipe too...enjoy that. A 99 like mine is a b!tch to get aftermarket exhaust for (allegedly)...I wouldnt' know, I'm rolling stock

You need to upload them first to a site like Photobucket and get the direct link from that photo, copy it and paste it to the photo link just above where you type your posts. Make sense?

Also my car just through three codes 1107 (TCC Solenoid) 0412 (O2 Sensor) 0401 (Intake Air Temperature Sensor). The sensor codes im not worried about too much. Its The p0744 code thats scaring the **** outta me. Is there anyway I can fix this without a new tranny ALREADY ! The car does shift weird because of it. When I start from full stop depending on how hard I'm on the gas, first gear brings me to 3k RPM sometimes higher, then it shifts to second, then it shifts to third, feels like it shifts back to 2nd gear for a second then back to third. Its no hard clunks, but does it pretty smooth actually. I searched the forum but no luck with anybody that has a solution.

Maybe it has the wrong type of fluid in the transmission!

Check the tranny fluid for being too low or too full. Adjust accordingly if needed. May be worth it to just change the fluid out (drain and fill) if it's all dirty and burnt..it won't make the tranny go bad if it already is, but it *might* prolong it a little while.
