HAZARD/WARNING LIGHT SWITCH
HAZARD/WARNING LIGHT SWITCH
Hi,
I changed the leds in my hazard/warning lights and in the rear defroster buttons, I noticed that after I was done, none of them made the click sound anymore. The rear defroster works but doesn't click (I don't care about the clicking), but my hazard light switch doesn't click and does not stay press down, meaning I have to hold the button, but it does work, it just doesn't stay pressed down. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance,
Rony

The little white piece that serves as the guide for the notch on the button itself is probably not aligned properly.
Take it apart carefully, you'll notice the actual button part of the hazard has a little nub, this fits into the groove of the white piece, and the white piece sits on the actual switch. Your spring might be loose or misaligned as well.
I had to take mine apart again after putting an LED in. And actually, there are not LEDs in those switches, they're tiny incandescents. The SECURITY light is an LED but nothing else

Hi,
I believe you're talking about the little white piece on the switch, really tiny about 5-6mm. Do you know how exactly it should be aligned? I put on the center and closed the thing, the spring was fine, and still they do not stay on. Maybe you can give a bit more insight? I'll appreciate it. Thank you,
Rony

Yeppers.
iirc, the groove looks like a V or a triangle, yes? if you disassemble the thing and look at the top of the button itself (the "ceiling"), you will see a little nub that goes down. The nub gets guided by the white triangle thing.
