Weird starting issues after swap

What's up everyone, I'm in need of some help because i've just about had it with this car. After swapping in a de-k motor, that turned out to be bad, I swapped in a 98 motor with the 01 00vi everything. 5th gen tb and iacv with broken clip. car started up on the first try. Since then I've had the occasional hard start at times, but it always started up. So today i finally took it to get the exhaust welded up and passed by to see a fellow org member. After I shut the car off double parked in traffic, that was all she wrote.

The car would crank and crank and crank and I'll get nothing. I've switched both ckps sensors. One by crankshaft with old one that i found in the car, and one on tranny bellhousing brand new from the parts store. I also swapped cam sensors with another 98 max, still to no avail. Spoke to tavarish( Freddy) and he advised me to add a 4 gauge ground to the 17 mm bolt by the ckps. I didn't have a 4 gauge, but i had 8 gauge so I used two wires bolted straight to the battery. The car is still cranking the same way smdh..

Can someone please give me any possible ideas. the car started fine the whole day with no issues at all. I pulled the codes, and i got maf( which was from previous before the swap and has been fixed), o2 sensor and knock sensor. Could the knock sensor cause this problem?

Ok well after further checking, found that the fuel pump was not turning on. So replaced the fuel pump brand new unit. still nothing. Starter didn't sound in the best shape, and i want all my angles covered so went to autozone and got a new one... Installed it and WTF>> ALL POWER TO IGNIGITION HAS COMPLETELY GONE... the horn will blow, lights come on, but when the key is put into the ignition, the security light doesn't come one, vafc2 doesn't light up, radio doesn't light up, and the car won't even crank... all wires are on correctly. What can possibly be wrong with this damn thing!!!

sounds similar to what just happened in my swap...i ended up with a new starter (which sounds like yours is turning ok) and a 4 ga ground directly from battery to starter mount bolt -

id check ign fuse, and possibly look into your ECU?

Ok I was able to pin point my power loss issue. The ignition fuseable link under the hood was blown. For some reason when i got the new starter, it had the tab on it for which i believed was a ground. There was an extra plug which went straight to the body right by the transmission/starter and when i plug it in, it blows the link. So with it unplugged the link is fine and once again the car cranks. Now back to my main initial problem lol...

I'm not getting spark. I'm getting power to the coil pack wires but still no spark. the ckps near the tranny is getting power in the wires to the red wire. The cam sensor and the other ckps wires aren't getting power when I used my electrical tester. ( Are they suppose to get power?)
