I need info about Dust Covers (Boots)...

Well, I've searched a number of times, looked through dozens of threads, read the stickies and even posted a while back, but still haven't found my answer.

I'm looking for the part numbers for the dust covers (boots) for my 1997 Nissan Maxima. I'm getting ready to lower the car and mine really need to be replaced.

If anyone can give me the part numbers for the front and rear boots and an idea where to get them, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!
-Nick

clee's post in that thread only has the part number for the front ones. He also said that it may vary for different years.

The last post in that thread was posted by Turd Ferguson and he said in a later post that the rear was the wrong numbers.

I'm still searching for the part numbers for the boots.

Hey Nick,

Not sure if there's any difference between your '97 & my '95 as far as the boot part #'s are concerned, but I just got back from the dealership parts department myself, as I am also preparing for a suspension swap. Fwiw, here are the #'s for my '95 SE:

Part # / Description / Dealer price

54050-38U02 / Bumper Assy - Dust Boot (frnt) /$18.53 ea.
55240-0M315 / Bumper Assy - Dust Boot (rear) /$36.34 ea.

54325-5V000 / Bearing - Strut (front) /$23.79 ea.

Check the faq's & stickies for sources on OEM parts. There's no way you should have to pay prices like the ones I listed here. Some people have even reported success in negotiating prices w/ their local dealers once getting their best price online, to save the hassle of shipping; online ordering.

Best,
-K-
