New Import Tuner putting down maximas????

maybe i am over exaggerating but when i picked up the feb 02 edition of import tuner someone wrote in asking why they didnt feature maximas in their mag..the response got to me a little bit because they said we had no support from aftermarket companies...yet we have superchargers body kits cold air intake and even a hand full of turbo VQ's ...ive even seen a few r34 skyline conversion max's ..they even compared our car to a mazda mx6!..lol..that just didnt seem right i dont knock the magazine any for an uneducated answer but i still got to me a little bit...

maybe im to paranoid

I don't read Import Tuner, so I don't know about the current issue. It is true that compared to other cars, Maximas don't have much aftermarket support.

Handful of turbo VQs? Where?

it doesn't have any support. look at all the honduh specific tuning companies, then look at all the nissan specific. Nismo... (which as a factory tuner doesn't have anything for the maxima). stillen has a little (very little. We don't even get a front fascia, just a lame front lip ) is stillen the major manufacturer of parts for maximas? and how many body kits (if you call them that) are there for the maxima? 2... 3? the maxima gets no lovin

Well, compared to the Civics and other typical imports that are out there and in those mags, we have no aftermarket support. Hopefully this will change pretty quickly as I will soon be moving up to a 4th gen in the future.

bah. Import Tuner is crap anyways. I value SCC's opinion much more:

"A hero of the post-300ZX "Underdog Era" of sporty Nissans, the Maxima SE is perennially favored by those who fancy flinging large sedans (with four comfortable but terrified passengers) around curvy roads and even the track. We know of Maximas that compete with regular success in SCCA Solo II events, as well as a '99 Maxima with a healthy appetite for Type R's, often spotted at California road course venues [I believe this is Jay Lee's car]."
