I tried that..and i found out the 2 cylinder isn't getting any spark either..i'm thinking it's the ecu??? doesn't that control the sparks???

There are few things that could be wrong.

First...do you have a check engine light?

Things that could be bad.
ECU
Crankshaft position sensor
Condensor
Ingition coil

Here's what you need to do to diagnose.

Get a multimeter.

There are three wires going into each coil pack. Red, Black and another color wire with stripe on it. Do this...Make sure you get +12V from the Red wire at all times. Make sure the Ground is good by checking continuity. The color wire with a stripe on it is the ignition signal from the ECU.

There are about $150 from a junkyard. Just make sure you tell them exact model. EX. 1999 SE, cali-spec, Auto, no-traction control and non-abs brakes.

Can't I just get an ecu from any 4th gen. and take it to the nissan dealer to have it reprogrammed to my specs?

You got me. I don't know if Nissan can reprogram it. You might want to ask the dealership about that.
