Hi guys. I'm going to make this short.

I just bought a 5 speed 99 max yesterday and I am driving the car and in 5th gear at 74.5 MPH, my RPMs are at 3000.

On my other automatic 98 maxima, at 74.5MPH I can recall the RMPs being around 2500ish.

Can someone tell me if this is normal for the 5 speed or is something wrong.

I've got a 96 5-speed. Not sure RPMs at 75, but at 60 I'm already at around 2500. So, I think that sounds about right

 

norms. With OD on the 4AT RPMS usually stay much lower than the MT

Yep, that's typical for a 4th gen 5speed. If you want lower RPMs at Highway speed swap in a 6speed.
