Alarm goes off when unlocking driver door

I've search already and couldn't find my specific problem

When ever I unlock my driver door, the alarm goes off. Just the driver door though. Its happened ever since I bought her (98 SE) 2 months ago, not sure what the problem is but its so annoying that I haven't locked my doors in over a month.

I tried programming the key fob but that doesn't work for me either. (I couldn't get it to work on my 95 GLE either which also had security system).

Any idea what the problem can be?

Factory alarm system or aftermarket? Do you have any type of remote start?

Lol don't unlock drivers door...use key to unlock everything from passenger side

Its the factory alarm sys.

Thats what I was doing at first, I would lock the car, and then when I come back I go to the passenger side, unlock, and then walk around the car and get in the driver side.

Whats happened to me a couple times is I would go to the passenger side, unlock the passenger door. Walk to the driver side, realize I forgot to unlock the driver door, walk back to the passenger side, unlock all doors, and then walk around back to the driver side

Its cool if you got a girl with you because then you look like a ****n gentleman lol.

But it gets old quick.

Lubricate the lock linkage in the drivers side door. It may not be moving enough to send a signal back to the BCM that the door has been unlocked.

Yeah I can imagine

Check the FSM, the EL section is the electonics...mebbe your driver's door open sensor or lock sensor isn't working right.

I have the same problem and have had it for about 3 years. Ive replaced the locking mechanism and numerous other parts. When it started, the door would simply lock and unlock in succession by itself over and over. The alarm would go off randomly as well. At the peak of the problem when the alarm would go off multiple times a day I would have to leave the car unlocked just so my alarm wouldn't be going off and kill my battery. Its strange to say the least but I have not fixed it completely yet. I fixed the lock/unlock weirdness but the alarm still goes off randomly sometimes. So just hope your problem doesnt get worse

Sorry, I'm a noob. Not sure what FSM means, when I google it all I get is pictures of a flying spaghetti monster.
I'm not sure how relevant that is to my situation though,

The lock linkage, do I have to take apart the door panel to get to it?

If your a noob then your best bet is taking it to a shop. You have an electrical gremlin and probably a malfunctioning locking mechanism. Im no genius or mechanical expert but I do have a fair amount of knowledge and I still have not fixed the issue

That might be what I'll have to do in the future. Its not a top priority right now though. I thought someone else would have had this problem and that they got it solved. I didn't expect it to be a difficult fix. Thanks for the input.
