serious problem

i just recently changed the transmission in my 97 i30. i came across a good deal on a auto lsd trans. so i went ahead and changed it along with both axles. put it all back together and now it has a really hard time starting, and when it starts it smokes and smells really rich. so i checked for codes and nothing. i tested the coil packs and theres no spark. i went ahead and checked the crank and cam sensors and there all good. Maf is good, i don't know what else to check. i did notice that whenever i bumped the ignition like quick and short cranks it would start so i changed the ignition switch. Now.. it still is doing the same damn thing! i searched and found some answers and did those things but still to no avail. i seen one org member go as far as changing the harness and e.cu. and he still had no spark. i need some serious help as this is my only and primary vehicle. any suggestions or info will be greatly appreciated!

Did you sand the mating surfaces of the trams and engine block? If not, you have a grounding issue which is the cause of the hard starts. Documented pretty well on here.

yes i cleaned the engine and the trans was just rebuilt so its a clean surface. i know about the grounding issues and i even added grounds to make sure. everything worked fine before i changed the trans. like i said if i give it quick cranks instead of cranking it like normal it will come to life but only some times. makes me wanna never shut it off the next time it starts haha..

I would check the CKPS POS sensor on tranny housing. If it was running before swapping the tranny, there is something that is not connected or got damaged in the process.

Faulty ignition switch? So you had this problem before the tranny swap and you was trying to associate the tranny swap with an already existing problem?

noo noo it was a problem that came up at the same time i changed the trans. before i changed everything it ran fine, now after i changed the trans it went bad. ( a horrible coincidence?) so after testing and messing with it i found that the ignition switch was no good. so i went bought another one and put it on. turns out that "new" one was bad as well so i took that one back for one that i ordered from the dealer and now its all good. sorry for any confusion or inconvenience.
