I got leaking on transmission driver side

OK so i have a leaky DS axle, and I installed quaife differential into my tranny back in 07, properly shimmed using solder-crush method. I also have a bad driver side wheel bearing, this would cause or at least contribute to the transmission leakage, correct? It messes up the diff carrier bearing? I got under and was able to move the axle around more than 1mm, probably 2-3mm of free play, which tells me I have a bad diff carrier bearing. I forgot the proper preload, but but I can search later for that. My primary concern is that I do not want this happening again, any suggestions?

EDIT: Orginal Thread that I made back in 07:

The wheel bearing isn't causing or didn't contribute to the transmission leak. Failing differential bearings are the cause of the play and the leak. Shim it correctly when you replace them and you'll be good to go.

This BLOWS! I thought that I shimmed it correctly the last time!!
Differential side bearing preload is spec'd at (0.0157"-0.0177") and I most likely went somewhere in the middle of those figures as that's how I am, so probably around .0163-.0168" or so...I wonder what caused this? I use RL MT90, so I don't get it
Isn't the solder crush the best way to get the acuurate bearing preload?

Anyone know where I can get some cheap 5spd diff carrier bearings? Courtesy has for $59 a piece, and I saw that they offer both the AT and MT bearings, I think that the AT are a little bit bigger. SKF Timken 32010X seems to be pretty cheap...

So on ebay, I ordered the 32010-x tapered bearings, and they're too big. Lucky enough that the guy I bought them from will take it them back!!
I looked at an old bearing, something I shoulda done before buying the 32010-x, and it's NTN ET-CR-0834ST...way rare bearing. 70mmOD, 42mmID, and 19mmwide... Nissan wants $59.99 ea...I bought a couple from here:

I hope they're the right ones!!
