description shows it fitting 95-97.

Is yoru 99 Cali or FED spec? The FED spec has the rear O2 sensor bung immediately after the main cat, not sure if it's a part of the cat or not.

I'm Cali spec., I messaged the seller, but won't get a response until tomorrow, I don't see why not though... this doesn't have a bung, nor do I on my small cat.

The seller responded faster than I thought, he says 'this will not pass smog, best regards'
I think what he's saying is it'll 'fit' but it wouldn't pass emissions, we all know this though...

why are you even giving a 2.25" diameter hfc the time of day? youd be bottlenecking your system.

Is a shop going to be installing for you? If thats the case, they should have magnaflow HFCs in stock and they can just weld flanges for you so its a direct fit.

No a good friend of mine is gonna do it, I just can't find a 2.5"/2.5" test pipe, everything is 2.25"/2.5", should I just grab the 2.25/2.5?

If you want something bolt on, think about gutting your oem cat. Same results.

If you don't care for a resonated test pipe. Go to a non franchise muffler shop and have them make you one. I got mine made and installed in < a hour.

A former local ordered the exact same one and when I went under to bolt it up, the flange was turned to the side. I had to take it to a shop to get it cut and rewelded the right way.

Exactly but I think OP is trying to avoid anymore hassle. He wants a bolt up pipe. I suggested the same up top.

Yeah it really is hit or miss. I've dealt with two of the cheap $30 resonated 3" 240sx test pipes and they both leaked, and I think datdude is running one with no issues.

Same with OBX headers, some need the crossmember trimmed, some don't.

^ Definitely right about that one. Most everyone had to trim their xmember. Im one of the only ones that didnt have to. Close fit but clear enough to not be concerned. (.25" of clearance)

one other thing, the more I look at test pipes on ebay, 85% of the sellers' pictures flanges do not line up, is one side of the flanges fully movable, as if it could spin around?

here are some links if you've got a minute or two...

The flanges are supposed to be offest like that.
VQ was saying they were not properly constructed so the bolt holes on the flanges didn't mate with the rest of bolt holes on the surrounding exhaust parts.

woooooooow, that is so lame, so basically anyone with a legit and true aftermarket header and cat-back exhaust is screwed, because these were clearly designed for an add-on piece to someones new purchase of a cat-back only...

Worst case scenario one side dont line up, go to a shop cut off the flange, line it up, tack it, bring it down fully weld it out and put back in....

The flanges are supposed to be like that, stock or not.

VQ is the outlier having an issue with that test pipe.

1% chance that the one you buy will not fit.
