My 4th gen maxima

I just joined and wanted to say that my 96 is an amazing car. I've owned it for a lil over 4 months now, bought it with 234,775 miles and It just turned over 240,000 miles yesterday... and shes still running strong. Its got the vq30de with a manual 5 speed and a future custom made Turbo when I get the money saved up. Possibly a vq35de swap if I'm lucky enough. But all in all these are some amazing machines. I've owned 2... a 92 SE and now my current 96 gxe. I believe Its got a bad tach but as long as u don't keep that rpm limiter pegged I'm not to worried about it right now. Its got minor rust on both right side quarter panels, left rear quarter panel damage from the previous owner, the mounts for the spoiler rusted through and left a couple holes on my trunk causing a serious leak when it rains. Its not the prettiest, but it sure puts those ppl with their turd cannon cars to shame with that vq30. When it finally opens its last injector and decides to quit on me, I'm going out and finding another 4th Gen or a 2002 with a vq35. While I'm here could I possibly get some feedback on my YouTube video showing the tach? I want to make sure that's what the problem is b4 I go and waste money just to have it continue to not work properly. My account name is snipingghost90. Thank you ahead of time for any feedback you may have.

Welcome btw. Um post pics of your car and i think that 96 max u have isnt a GXE. Its an SE (Sport Edition). If it has fog lights too then it's a SE definately, and an SE has a white dash.

Yo man. I'm new too, I've got a 95 I'm doing a VQ35 swap in atm. Lost my rms so decided to upgrade into a 2002 with only 25k miles. Getting a few other things too My looks aren't great either yet but I'm giving the important **** top priority. What's the condition of your maxima? You make it sound very bad. Maybe needs a wash? lol

My best guess is get the tach replaced. Switch the entire board. Might as well, or go find one of those ricer tachs at autozone and hook it up real quick and see if it is just the board itself, if the new tach works. Question answered.

I'm sorry, but you aren't lowered. With wheels that big even a one inch drop would be noticeably less wheel gap. Altezza's are ugly as **** but if you want em so bad, here is a link http://www.carpartswholesale.com/v5/...-NM95-BK.html/

I can foresee this cars future as being very ricey, but we can't save every Maxima out there.
