1999 Maxima GXE will not start, has Engine Oil Pressure Warning light on
Seeking help for my mom's 1999 Maxima with about 110K miles in South Texas. Today morning she drove from home to Walgreen, shopped, came back and engine will not start. Tried to jump - will still not start. Towed to auto shop who were closing for day and so will check on that tomorrow.
This car already had Check Engine Light on for last several months with codes - P1400(EGRC Solenoid Valve) and P0443(Evap Canister Purge Control Valve/Solenoid Valve). We did not got it resolved because the mechanic told us it would cost $$$, plus looking at car's age, $ resale value and fact that mom drive it like once in week for 5 miles only didn't make a lot of sense to fix it.
Mom told me that when she turned on the ignition key, the security light will turning off properly, but there will be no click or engine cranking. However she mentioned that the Engine Oil Pressure Warning light(oil symbol) and Charge warning light(battery symbol) are solid ON besides the CEL that was on before.
I am ruling off the immobilizer system malfunction. However does the Engine Oil Pressure light prevent starting car ? Or could it be just starter solenoid since there was no click to be heard on turning key.
The oil was change about 1.5 months/100 miles back by me. Would like to know your thoughts on possible reasons/things to check - just so I am better prepared to deal with the mechanic over phone.
Thanks in advance

The Oil pressure light has nothing to do with it not starting. You need to focus on the battery light. Start by having your battery tested. It is possible that the the battery ran completely dead and thus will not take a jump and is ruined. Most auto parts stores should check it for you for free.
As for your EGR code, clean your EGR as described in the 4th gen how to section (see my sig for a link to this section). For the EVAP code, unless your state has emissions testing, that is n biggie, mine has been bad for a year.

Engine oil light is on because the engine is not running and there is no oil pressure.
Battery light is on because the engine is not running and the alternator isn't spinning.
None of the above have anything to do with your no start condition.
All of the above are normal.
If the starter isn't working and the battery is OK then you have a starter or ignition switch issue.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions.
Update on the thread.
It turned out to be the starter. The tech kinda ripped off by charging 210$ part +130$ labor. But mom had no option, wish I was nearby to help. Tech mentioned battery may be weak - got it checked at walmart (where it was bought) and came out fine.
