It should sound pretty good. Equal length Y only matters with the right headers and those should be good

fwiw here's a vid on youtube with stock headers, stillen gen 1 equal y and cat back... it does sound a bit raspy like you mentioned but the tone's changed. i'm attributing the rasp to the stock shorties wish he'd made a video under load it would sound reaaally good.

I say it a lot to people who seem to think the equal length Y is the end to rasp and will result in the most beautiful sound in the world. Sadly it is not. With asymmetric headers you get ^that^ sound that I think is god awful. Sound starts at the headers and the Y pipe does not have as much influence as some seem to think. Ask Cattman if you dont believe me. The headers you have there will settle down the exhaust pulses nicely though. Try and remember to PM me when you have it on. Very curious to hear it

Not a catbackback. Just an axleback.

Thanks man!
How much would that cost? The y pipe for sure, and depending on how much it is I'll get the headers done too... The headers look pretty good minus some tiny peeling at like 2 runners but Both are peelin at the bottom flanges

Looks like 3". Tryna replicate this? Lol :P

have a q about the o2 bungs... Why is each bank sensor bung in a single runner as opposed to being right where all 3 runners meet like cattman Or stock? Wouldn't you want the ecu reading the mixture off all 3 cyls for an average reading or something?

Not really, I'm going back to an unequal y pipe this winter. Was just wondering because I had one helluva time with the u bend I was using.

Could you measure the diameters of the piping too?

It was probably just easier that way. Any further down and you might need to extend the o2 sensor wires.

Ok true... Unequal For winter *gasp* why? Is it just to preserve the equal y u made?

did you do the u bend? Cause when I was thinking of getting the shorties with a custom equal y I looked At this site that had mandrel bent pieces. U's, doughnuts, various degree bends etc.

Which would you like me to measure? The y is 2.5" exit and.the down.pipes are 2". Runners on the headers are oval. 1.75"x1.5". I think the runner and dp lengths are in the header comparison on nycmaxima

I meant that's when it will be replaced since I won't be loaded down with schoolwork. The old y pipe is going in the trash, the new one is going to be stainless.

No, I just bought a couple 180* mandrel u bends from a local muffler warehouse.

Cool thanks, I mainly wanted to know the secondaries diameter. Maybe part of my issue is trying to cram 2.25" piping in there and loop it around.
