I am trying to buy a used replacement ECM on Ebay and the only identifier on the label is printed in either orange or black.
The label has three identifiers, 1. Large font letter that is followed by a number, 2. A series of three sets of three alpha-numeric characters and 3. Four numbers.
1. I don't know if the large letter with a single number means anything. 2. The series of three sets of three alpha-numeric character appears to be the model number, and 3. The four numbers appear to be the serial number.
My issue is there are many variations of the model number and all of the Ebay sellers indicate that they are compatible with my car. Also, does anything need to be done to the replacement ECM such as flashing the EPROM, calibration/programming of the ECM before installing it?
Thanks
