PO130 Code all of a sudden Question

Hello all-Just a quick question I have a 97 Max 108,778 The last 2 days I would start a cold engine for 20 sec to move the car--Then the next day i did the same thing cold engine I started it move the car it was about 20 seconds.. Today i started the car-Let it run a few minutes--Then drove it for a short drive--SE light came on--Checked it came up P0130 O2 Sensor--My question could i have in any way caused the 02 sensor to report a problem because of the 2 starts that latest 20 seconds.. It was about 34 degs outside.. I cleared the light and drove the car hard for about 20 minutes.. So far so good.. Thanks for any input.. it may have been 15 seconds each start--Could i have caused a real rich mixture each time? I have never done this before to the car..I bought it new in 97... Thanks

The engine needs a rich fuel mixture in order to run when the engine is cold. I don't think the short start & runs would cause this, but with all the parts of the car aging, who knows. When was the last time you changed things like the spark plugs, air filter and the fuel filter?

I would just say the the O2 sensor decided to fail and really had nothing to do with the short starts.

did the code return? if it returns, replace the o2, if it doesn't then don't worry about it.

quick starts like that should not cause any sensors to fail, as dennis said, the sensor might have failed due to age and not due to two quick start/stop.
