post a picture. It will fit (assuming you are using a stock 4th gen tranny, and a fwd vq35). Did you take your transmission mount off?

*edit* Just thought of something else that has screwed me up before. Make sure you only have two dowels inserted into either the tranny or the engine.

sorry I dont have any pics. I had the tranny mount off and I removed two dowels off the engine and i would be able to get four of the bolts in. The four to the left of the starter. other then that the others wouldn't line up including the long bolt to the starter.

You may need to use the 3.0 upper oil pan more than likely. Do you know by chance if the upper oil pan came from a 6speed or an auto?

The tranny should mount up to either one from my understanding... I will have to double check that...

I know my 5speed mounted up to the auto upper oil pan from my 05 maxima engine I bought...

no i am not using a 3.0 upper oil pan. I didnt think you had to. that would really suck. The car was a automatic.

yea it does matter thats why ur tranny isnt bolting right up.It bolts right up with the oil pan.then u will have problems with crank sensor due to its postion u must shave off some material off the oil pan in order to use 3.5 oil pan.it doesnt matter if its a auto, manual 3.0 oil pans all the same

I was referring to the 3.5 upper oil pans. According to a multitude of threads/write-ups out there the 5speed should bolt up t the 3.5 upper oil pan

http://forums.maxima.org/all-motor/6...ap-thread.html

I already knew that if using a 3.5 upper oil pan you have to shave off some material using 3.0 crank sensor. But according to this thread you can use a crank sensor from a 3.5 with 3.5 upper oil pan. Just have to splice it in stock harness.

http://forums.maxima.org/all-motor/3...decide-go.html

My opinion use 3.0 upper oil pan so you don't have to worry about messing something up...

check in the all motor forum before you give up. When I did my swap I used the 3.0 upper and lower oil pan, but I was thinking that I could have used the 3.5 upper it was just more of a hassle to make the crank sensor work properly

can you post pictures of where you are not lining up?
