Well dude if you have a 99 check the immobilizer. The light should be sold while youre trying to start her up

If that doesnt work and you say you dropped the tranny you may need to sand the mating surfaces and add a ground from the 17mm starter bolt to the negative battery terminal.

But I'm pretty sure you have a grounding issue. Check what I mentioned on my post above

Did you clean the mating surface on the tranny and motor when you replaced your tranny? Adding grounds will not fix the problem if you didn't clean the mating surfaces. I dealt with the same issue.

Travis I know you're not new here but this could've all been searched up.

Try fixing it simply first with just the grounding wire, and if that doesn't work then attempt the mating surfaces. I guarantee that your problem will be fixed if you do these 2 things.

I Remove the Crank sensor under Harmonic Balancer and the engine cranks over completely normal and RPM gauge sits at 0, I Connect it and it back fires BADLY from Exhaust only and Grayish white smoke comes out muffler.

This is the work i performed.

1-Complete New Injector Rail n all injectors out junk yard.
2-New Auto Transmission.
3-removed flex plate to inspect rear main seal.
4-installed new Electrical clip for Ignition Coil In Front.

only thing i can think of at this point is that i Fried the ECU Because when the coil clip shattered when i removed it i still slid the wires on the coil and started it and maybe the power transferred from one the electrical terminals to the other and shorted something out.

Well dude ive seen an exact thread describing the same symptoms and they even posted a video. But i was deep lurking yesterday when I found it.

Is it like that ? If it is the guy who posted the video, got it to work after he added the grounds.

Before you start changing sensors like me and amerikaner have suggested: SAND THE MATING SURFACED . good luck OP

Sorry but im not removing my entire transmission again just to sand it,If theirs no way around it i guess ill have to lol, But yes Thanks Alot Bro that Video is EXACTLY what mine is doing and this is my 4th Tranny in this car n i NEVER heard or had to sand the mating surfaces Thats weird lol.

When i added three grounds straight from NEg battery to ground with jumper cable why didn't it start if it was grounds?

I ran 6 4GA wires as grounds after my clutch was replaced and that was not enough. Per the Nissan dealer, the mating surfaces on these cars are a MAJOR grounding point. The ONLY way to fix this is to pull the tranny and clean those surfaces. Stop banging your head and wasting time on trying anything else until you pull the tranny again and clean it. DO NOT SAND it, just clean it up real well with a wire brush. If you don't want to pull the tranny again, you will not fix your problem.

Heres my thread with video in post #8 http://forums.maxima.org/4th-generat...hen-start.html

After i pulled the tranny and cleaned those surfaces, It fired right up.

Yeah dude, the mating surfaces are one of the biggest grounds. Just adding the ground cables will not be enough. I just suggested doing that first because its a lot simpler and a lot cheaper.

LOTS of people have gotten to start this way. Tavarish being one of them. hold up let me find the videos.

This is before he sanded the surfaces. Granted its not as bad as the previous video and he did manage a start if you read the first comment he will say how he fixed it.
Since you have added grounds, changed the ckps sensor this is THE ONLY THING left for you to do. Youre gonna have to pull the tranny if you want her to start again

And then here is the after video. That baby fires right up

Make up your goddamned mind, Travis! Codes or no codes? Geez every thread you start ends up like

Do as you've been told MANY TIMES already. Remove your trans and scour the mating surface to the engine!

Wow, Thats crazy! I Wonder if i could just loosen the tranny and get it a little away from block and run a scortch pad in between the mating surfaces and then spray some carb cleaner and torque tranny down if that should work?

^^^ You will need to get every square inch. Make sure you do both sides (Engine and Tranny). Personally I would just take the whole thing out again and do it right and call it a lesson learned. It sure would suck to only take it partway out, clean it some (half assed), then find out that didn't work then have to go thru the process AGAIN.

well it wont take me but 15 minutes to back all the Tranny bolts out halfway with Impact Versus 4 Hours to completely remove it and clean it and put back (yes i can uninstall then install a A/T in 4 Hours Done 4 on this car and 2 on 95)

And im pretty possitive i can get the scotch pad all the way in and it will clean both the block and tranny same time and i've seen the gap i can get out of it and its enough...if it still dont start ill go ahead and take it all out again..

HEY, THANKS ORG!!!
