Horribly stupid question
I have an automatic, by accident when I wasn't looking I put it in first and when I realized it wasn't in drive I let off the gas. It had a cool tone to it like a manual would. I did it a few more times but only up to like 2 1/2 rpms on a busy street because it backfires louder and makes a nasty tone. I've never done it before and won't because this is my daily and I can't afford to mess it up. But does this burn oil or mess anything up badly? Makes me wish I had an stick shift...

Looooool... It's holding it in gear 'like a manual' hahaha :P so basically when u let go.of gas its engine breaking and.not using fuel which can make a snap crackle n.pop, it's normal and fine :-)
