So Confused

Hi...I have a 97 Nissan Maxima GLE and my service engine light recently came on. I know very little about cars so I took it to Autozone and the OEM # they gave me was P0306. I did some studying and went ahead and replaced all of the sparks and ignition coils but the light never went out. I thought it just needed to be reset but to be sure I went back to Autozone for another reading. This time I received #'s P0306, P0110 & P1320. I need some advise,

Nissan coils only. Aftermarket will trigger codes. Also, only run NGK plugs, type doesn't matter.

P0306 = multiple cylinder misfire. Probably worn, and then the wrong spark plugs.
P0110 = Intake air temperature sensor. Probably unplugged.
P1320 = Ignition signal. Probably Autozone coils.

Buy NGK copper plugs. The OE coils were fine or you would have originally gotten the P1320.
Reinstall your OE coils and demand your money back for the crap coils.

^^

I prefer NGK Platinum but copper works as well...slightly better spark at the expense of not lasting 100K like the platinums

Slight correction: P0306 is Cylinder 6 misfire; P0300 is multiple cylinder misfire.

Thanks for the replies. I used Bosch Platinum sparks to replace the old ones and OE Nissan replacement coils. Is it normal to get the same error "P0306" after installing a new spark & coil? I will check the intake air temperature sensor.

Did you ever clear the misfire code after you changed the plugs and coils? That could be a reason why the misfire code is still there. You should probably go with NGK platinums.

Any ngk. Copper works best. Platinum and iridium last longer.

Nope, I was looking up ways to do it on YouTube but then my heat just stopped working. So, I gave up and took it to a shop. The heat issue was my relay and he also swapped out the plugs for the NGKs. He cleared the codes but of course the light came back on. UGH!!
