Hey this is kind of like a poll: How often do you all wash your Maxima's? Also do you wash them yourselves or take them somewhere? Just wanted to know Thanks for responding.....

 

Once a week....95% of the time I do it myself.

I wash mine when it needs it and when it's time for the weekend is a must. Winter time, I take it somewhere because even if I wash it myself in winter, when drying it, it's so d@mn cold out that it streaks and looks dirty even when it isn't. But during spring thru fall, I do it myself.

 

Wash: Weekly.
Interior: Bi-Weekly.
Wax & Detail: Monthly.

Damn, you wax once a month? Isn't that overdoing it a bit? I always thought 3 to 4 times a year was the way to go....

 

Yeah, it is overkill. Especially to get all the wax out of the crevices. But now I'm so used to it that it doesn't take too long anymore. You should see the car in the rain.

Spring/summer/fall wash it myself every week.. wax it every 2 months...interior every other week

During Spring/Fall, I wash it once a week myself.

During winter, dammm....its been a while...

 

Every week. I wash it myself in my driveway. I'm gonna go out and wash both of my cars now as soon as I finish with this board.

 

in the summer, my self, every weekend. full wash and wax. Clean the interior every 2 weeks.

Now, in the winter... I only go to the car wash, it's too freaking cold to wash it yourself. For the interior, i either don't wash it at all, or just go pay 50 cents at the gas station and quickly clean the footwells and the floor mats with the vacuum and that's that.

during the winter i just wash it a few days after a big snow.....cause the salt on the streets messes up the finish......summer time once every 10 days about.....and i wax it 2x

I live in Seattle, where it rains from November-May.

So washing more than once every month in Seattle at those times is nearly pointless.
During the summer, once a week, because (believe it or not), the summers here are very dry and very nice.

And I do it myself. Wax every 4 months.

 

I once left it dirty for a month and a half, that was sad. I really didnt care at that point.

 

I have been known to wash my car during rain showers. I never let my car stay dirty for long, because leaving all of the grime and chemicals and bird poop on the paint will destroy it. It doesn't matter if it eventually gets dirty again... At least the paint stays healthy. It's like this: You take a shower every day, even though you're gonna get dirty, right? If most people treated their bodies the way they treat their cars, this country would be one extremely smelly, ugly place.

 

I got my Max last summer.

When the weather permits, I take it to a coin-operated carwash nearby every 2 weeks or so. I then wax it with an orbital buffer outside my apartment. Thank God they invented extension cords ... 100 feet or bright orange cord baby!

Got an all-season car cover to cover it up for the nights & rainy weather + snow. Car paint seems to attract more dust after a wax.

I'd do it every 2 weeks during good weather to build up the wax so it'll make it through winter.

I wash mine once a week on average, usually myself. Now its freezing cold so I try to at least spray it off after a snow that kicks salt all over it. I will take it to a hot water, hot floor car wash bay, pay 1.50 and just spray if off real well underneath and the body. Now come spring, summer, fall I wash it whenever it gets rained on or dusty. Damn these dark finishes! The interior is "blond" so the carpet/mats get very dirty quick. Who thought of making the floormats light beige???

i take it to this hand washing place in woodhaven, queens (nyc). i'd say i wash about every 2 weeks. i need to see all the dings and scratches these moronic f*ckers who dun know how to drive have put on my car. sorry for the venting. sometimes it amazes me how people get driver's licenses.

After I bought my 96 Max new, I washed and waxed it every weekend. Now wash is down to like every month, and wax is down to I don't know, every 6 months.

I wash my ride everytime I can! hot out,cold out no matter. I feel sick when my car is dirty Dont you?

 

During the summer, my car gets washed atleast once a week, usually 2-3 times (its called girlfriend with gravel drive...1mph and still dusty)

During the winter, I am doing about once a week, and take it to a place (when home) that does it by hand and are VERY good... here at school, ick I do coin operated BS...

 

Once a week usually. More if it rains heavily or snows. I always do it myself even though its sometimes barely above freezing and everyone calls me crazy but it's worth it.

 

Summer, spring and fall- every week or so, with a wax about once a month
Winter- Whenever its warm enough...no car washes for my baby

Interior- once a month, with an overhaul three times a year

 

i hear ya.. when i first got my 98 max used.. no dents or cracks on the bumpers.. but after one year of driving it in nyc.. u would not believe how much damage is done to my bumpers.. freakin moronic drivers bump my max even when i'm in the car..

 

tell me about it. you would figure that people would pay attention when they drive. i mean there are countless people who just dun have a clue of what's going on.

i dun know how many times i've used rubbing compound to remove paint from other cars on my bumpers. nyc. gotta love it and hate it.

Anyone else notice it always rains/snows/hails/mudslides the next day after you get your car wash?

 

I wash ours about once every two weeks.

Right now its difficult because they are putting in a new drainage system on our street, and its like a dirt road!
