Low Idle Speed on Cold Days
Low Idle Speed on Cold Days
Does anyone have a fix for a low idle speed (once warmed up) on cold days? My car idles at 500 rpm whenever the outside temperature approaches freezing. It's not low enough to make it stall, but it causes the car to vibrate and is a little annoying. It has done this since the car was new. The idle speed is perfect the rest of the time (above 32 degrees). Any suggestions?

1)Have you cleaned your throttle body lately?
2)Check the adjustment of your Idle control valve - thats probably what it is being you mentioned it's done this since new.
3)Check the stickies in the 4th gen forum
4)Do a search for even more info

TB is clean. This is an old problem that I haven't really seen addressed on the forum. Most of the low idle posts have been related to engine mods. I'll research the old posts. Tx!
