I put a new bulb in on the trunk drive tail light and when i hit the brakes the parking light light up but only light when i hit the brakes. When i put the old one back in their do not light up even with the light turned on?

 

The new bulb must be shot. Try one of the working bulbs from another tail light.

 

Maby wrong bulb it might be a single filiment and not the 1157
