ok I have this motor and now Im ready to drop it in. I have a few questions: what is the problems with this swap not wanting to start in cold weather and is there a fix for it?? Also should I just sell this and go with 3.5 because I want something reliable and dont want to hear my wife's mouth

It's not the swap it's the tech that performed the swap....there's a really good swap tutorial on the org and the guy did a really well job all his components work...

Cold start issues most likely stem from lack of proper iacv and tps setup. Also if you use the A33 injectors you need a tune.

yeah I have a vafc and I was planning on using the a33 lim and injectors. my main concern was the car may not start. I just sold my buick lucerne because it was a p.o.s.

the 4th gen iacv plug can be modified to fit the fifth gen iacv so the cold start shouldnt be an issue

+1. IMO, if you want 100% reliability, and ease of install (sounds like your wife will kill you if you have to troubleshoot stuff) don't even mess with this mod, or a 3.5 swap. Just keep what you got or hunt down a MEVI with a JWT ECU; installation is painless and your car will have no issues whatsoever.

I have no problems troubleshooting being a former turbo dsm and b13/b14 sr20det guy. I promised her I wouldnt do anything extreme or turbo it. so might just get me a mevi and mod it.
