replaced broken stock rear speakers with original bose stock speakers but I dont know

I just bought a 1998 nissan maxima with a standard stock radio system (no bose). The 2rear speakers were blown so I went to the junkyard and bought all of the stock BOSE speakers from the same year maxima. But the 2 rear standard speakers has 2 wires and the bose has 4 wires. I need help wiring this up. SOMEONE HELP!!! THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

the stock bose system has individual amps for every speaker thats why you have 4 wires

Welcome to the org! Tryhttp://forums.maxima.org/4th-generat...e-posting.html or http://forums.maxima.org/audio-electronics-21/

Your better off selling them IMO, but try those threads before starting one.

Ok, don't go sell them. Use them. My setup was originally a bose system. Previous owner removed the individual amps and replaced the bose headunit with a sony xplode unit. I still have the original bose speakers and they sound really loud and bassy if you don't make them distort. Most installer peeps will advise against using them because they're 1.5ohms each, and most aftermarket stereos are designed for 4ohm speakers. Some are more stable than others at lower impedences. I have never blown them, but i play them to the point just before they distort. I'm personally very attentive to my speakers and i know that speakers will fatigue when driven hard.

One more thing to note: when i first got the car, i blew the fuse in the back of the stereo, i think it was 10amps, so replaced it with a 15amp fuse. I don't advise doing this normally, but i figured i was not playing to the speaker's limits by far and just felt like doing it. Call me reckless but it still sounds really good to this day. Haven't blown it since. There is a wiring diagram to follow if you have separate tweeters in the upper door panels, but mine was already done. Only real problem is the tweeters seem blown, so i'm gonna replace them with some walmart specials one day.

Long story short, bose speakers can be used without the amps with an aftermarket stereo and safely if you keep from distorting them. I'm living proof.

But the other 2 wires arepositive and negative wires on the new bose speakers. What do I connect positive and negative cables too? How do I power the amps on the speakers?

there's another thread with another newbie with the SAME issue...take the advice we're giving him too.

It's too much work to make your non-bose car bose. SELL the BOSE stuff and get non-bose like your car was meant for.
