Oil leak real bad

I have a major oil leak. Nothing comes out but as soon as I start the car, oil just pours out in a heavy stream. It looks like it is coming from this sensor but I have no idea what is. Can anyone help me or confirm that this can be where the leak is coming from?

It is the sensor at the end of the cable on the right in the picture it looks like 3 bolts hold it in.

Put ur car on jack stands and take off ur pass side tire, start the car and see where it's leaking from, probably your timing chain cover is causing this

Your upper oil pan half moon seal has deteriorated and can no longer hold the oil or your crankshaft oil seal has weakened and is letting oil out.

When through this myself.

If it looks like it's coming from the oil pressure sending unit (and it's not the sending unit) and it's a steady drip, it could be the inner valve cover gasket but most likely its the o-ring on the back timing cover. That o-ring is under oil pressure and will give you a steady drip and look like it's coming from either the valve cover gasket or oil pressure sending unit.

If it's the valve cover gasket, you would see (and smell) the oil dripping on the exhaust manifold. And typically oil pan leaks when you stop the car or it's a very very slow drip because it's not under pressure.

Your best bet is to jack up the front and take the passenger tire off and spray everything down with your choice of cleaner, mean green, carb cleaner, brake cleaner and then have a friend start it to give you your best chances of finding the exact location.

I will be pulling the wheel off this weekend and clean it real good. It does as Tim says When I start the vehicle it come out in a fast steady stream. Once I shut the car off it stops coming out. It comes out so fast, that all the oil will be out under a minute.

The only sensor I can think of right in that area is the Oil Pressure switch...Common leak area and cheap fix. This http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-Engine-Management-8030-Engine-Oil-Pressure-Switch-/370596944816?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A1997%7CModel%3AMaxima&hash=item56494c9bb0&vxp=mtr

OK it is leaking from something right behind this big pulley. Can someone tell me what this is? I know there must be a seal behind the pulley, but I do not know what it is called
