lower intake question

lower intake question

ok guys i got out ran buy my buddie who is fully stock even down to the paper air filter...well his is a 96 mines a 99 se ok now i took a yonder and looks like his lower intake is different where mine has the flap in it his looks like it never was even made for one no open holes or nothing...ok was there a difference in the lower intake on the older maximas jw cause he got me pretty damn good by atleast 5 car links or more and both of us is auto let me know guys

ok i was jw cause his has no spots for the lim for the rod deal or nothing just totally different

99 came with swirl valves I believe.

Swirl valves is the difference between the manifolds. They are not a hindrance to performance as far as I'm aware of.... the problem is the weight differences between the 2 cars. My 95 auto weighs 3180 with me behind the wheel, whereas my 99 auto tips the scales at 3405 with me in it.

it dont even have the spot where mine has the levers that opens up the thing in the intake or nothing

ok well i use to work at a truck stop with me in mine in weighed in at 3200 something with me in it he does have 15 in wheels and stuff so idk but his seems better at throttle response and every thing mine has 164k his 239 k

Weight... The earlier 4th gens are about 1 or 2 hundred lbs lighter. And that makes a huge difference.

The 99 Cali spec is the slowest of the 4th gens because of emissions setup, the swirl valves aren't helping it, that's for sure!
